In this year's edition of the Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS), Ford presents the 3rd generation Mustang Bullit, a limited-edition automobile, marking the 50th anniversary of the classic film starring Steve McQueen.

The new Ford Mustang Bullitt, slated for next summer in the North American market, features a revised and upgraded 5-liter V8 engine delivering 475 horsepower, as well as direct references to the 1968 Mustang GT Fastback from McQueen at film "Bullitt", which will also be exposed in the space of the blue oval. The gear selector handle, for example, is a white ball as an original, while the high-performance exhaust system (standard) is tuned to give the car a sound similar to the characteristic "bubble" of the Mustang of 68 .

Darrell Behmer, Mustang's chief designer, has no doubts: "This new Bullitt is, in the image of Steve McQueen, lavishly cool. As a designer, it's my favorite Mustang, with no lists, "spoilers" and badges. You do not have to say anything: it's just cool. "
