Sant’Agata Bolognese/Pebble Beach, August 19, 2022 – Automobili Lamborghini announces the Urus Performante, raising the bar for sportiness and performance, becoming the new benchmark for “driving pleasure” Super SUV performance.

A new level of lightness, aerodynamic design and sportier driving dynamics describe the Urus Performante. Lower, wider and 47 kg lighter, with an increased power output of 666 hp, the Urus Performante accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 306 km/h.

Stephan Winkelmann said “The Urus Performante takes the supreme performance and distinctive allure of Lamborghini’s revolutionary Super SUV to the next level, retaining its luxurious versatility and offering the most engaging driving experience: not just on the road but in all environments, distinguished by an alluring design that denotes new benchmarks in driving dynamism in what is already a remarkable car. “, ‘The Urus set a new standard at its launch, taking Lamborghini’s design DNA and technological talent to give birth to the world’s first Super SUV for a new era: the Urus Performante raises the bar even higher for the SUV segment.’

In fact, the Urus SUV has enabled Lamborghini to attract 80% of new customers. The brand with the bull has a full order book, with 18 months of delivery time currently for a customer, or 2024 for an order placed today.

Designed for performance

Ahead of its premiere, the Urus Performante set a new record in the production SUV category at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, crossing the finish line at 4302 meters (14,115 ft) in 10:32.064 and beating the previous 2018 record of 10:49.902.

The Urus Performante resonates with bold, aeronautical dynamism from the very first glance, and from every angle: it’s not just from the front that the Performante commands the road. A hood and bumper with a pure, sharper, more prominent design immediately highlight the Performante’s super-sporty genetics, while retaining the Urus’s innate elegance. The Urus Performante’s extensive use of composite materials makes it the car with the highest number of carbon-fiber parts in its segment. A reminder of its ‘Performante’ heritage. “This benchmark Urus is conceived as a unique driver-oriented Super SUV,” says Mitja Borkert, Head of Design.

An optional carbon fiber roof refers to Lamborghini’s super-sporty models such as the Huracán Performante and Super Trofeo.
The carbon-fiber front bumper and splitter feature assertive new lines: new black front air intakes improve engine cooling and express the SUV’s super-sporty heritage to the full. A new air curtain draws airflow over the front wheels, as part of an aerodynamic design theme that reduces drag; new hood air outlets contribute to overall aerodynamic efficiency and promote engine cooling. The newly designed rear spoiler increases the Urus Performante’s rear downforce by 38%.

Inside, the cabin is fitted as standard with Nero Cosmus black Alcantara with a new hexagonal seat stitching design, the “Performante trim”, and other options including a leather interior.

Designed for driving

The Urus Performante takes to the road like a light, honed athlete. Its muscular stance, distinctive design, twin-turbo V8 engine and lightweight sports exhaust make it, sight, sound and experience, the most exciting competitor on every road, track and open surface. It’s the driver’s SUV of a super sports car,” says Rouven Mohr, Technical Director.

The Performante’s power output is increased by 16 hp to 666 hp, and its weight is reduced by 47 kg, giving it a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of 3.2. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and braking from 100 km to a standstill in 32.9 m, the Urus Performante produces 850 Nm of torque between 2,300 and 4,500 rpm. Its benchmark longitudinal capabilities, including a top speed of 306 km/h, are matched by exceptional responsiveness, handling and stability. Aerodynamic efficiency is improved, and overall downforce is increased by 8%. Torque distribution is optimized thanks to a new differential, whose ratio increases from 3.16 to 3.4 when driving, and from 3.02 to 3.33 when coasting.

Behind the wheel, the Urus Performante gives drivers a new intimacy with the road beneath their feet, with enhanced agility, feedback and sporty orientation. Recalibrated front-wheel steering improves connection with the road through precise inputs and direct feedback. Faster rear-wheel steering intervention enhances agility in bends, complemented by torque vectoring of the rear differential, both on-road and off-road.

Redesigned driving modes enable the Urus Performante driver to select the perfect configuration for any environment: in STRADA mode, the Urus offers a comfortable, luxurious ride with soft damping. In SPORT mode, the driver benefits from improved throttle response, more agile rear-wheel steering at low speeds and greater stability at high speeds, fun oversteer characteristics and quicker gear changes: the sportier chassis configuration, including new stiffer steel springs and specific damper tuning, maximizes feedback to engage the driver in serious driving pleasure.

In CORSA, the Urus Performante’s race-car personality is unleashed with supreme handling: high-speed stability, flat cornering supported by active anti-roll bars and maximum damping, while the sport exhaust reminds those inside and out that this is a Lamborghini built on a super-sport heritage.

In addition to the standard driving modes, the Urus Performante features a new RALLY selection, which takes the Super SUV’s sportiness to the next level on dirt tracks. Its oversteer character is amplified by anti-roll and damping systems optimized for steel springs on rougher, more extreme surfaces, raising the bar to a new level of Super SUV performance.

The Chinese market will benefit from the technical improvements brought by the new Urus Performante, with engine power set at 640 HP for homologation reasons.

First deliveries of the Urus Performante are scheduled before the end of 2022.

The price, excluding taxes and delivery, will be €218,487 for a European and $260,676 for an American.

The vehicle is not yet offered for sale and is therefore not subject to Directive 1999/94/EC. Data on fuel consumption and emissions are at the type-approval stage.
