Creek Ranch is located in the northwestern corner of the Texas Hill Country featuring some of the most beautiful and diverse landscape found in Texas. This property includes top of the line improvements and is rich with wildlife. The attention to detail poured into over a decade of work has truly created a sportsman’s paradise. This ranch offers something for everyone.

Location:

Stone Creek Ranch is located less than two hours southwest of downtown Dallas, in between Mosheim and Gatesville, Texas. The ranch is located 20 miles west of Crawford, the home of former president George W. Bush. It is 50 minutes west of Waco and 1.75 hours north of Austin.

Current use of the land:

The ranch offers Trophy and Management hunts for World Class Whitetail as well as 19 different species of exotic animals. The second largest whitetail in the state of Texas was harvested on Stone Creek Ranch during the 2015/2016 season.

Improvements/Structures/Roads:

Access to this ranch is through a gated entrance with imposing rock/stone walls and a custom iron gate. A concrete drive takes you past a 35’ deep lake and up a small hill to one of the highest points in Coryell County and the entrance of the lodge. Once past the iron gates that lead to the lodge, you are greeted by an imposing sculptured water fountain on your way to the front door of the lodge.

The ranch compound centers around a spectacular custom built lodge with approximately 7,000 sf of air conditioned space. The front of the lodge has an additional 1800 sf covered porch that is a perfect place to enjoy the breeze and watch the wildlife gather around the lake as the sun sets. A wood burning fireplace with stone hearth offers warmth on a cool night or you can relax on the large porch. The lodge comfortably sleeps 12-24 people with 6 first-floor bedroom suites, all with private baths.

A 60’x50’ great room with a second wood burning fireplace and stone hearth is ideal for an intimate gathering of family and friends. A cook’s kitchen provides plenty of room for preparing meals and the adjacent open wet bar provides additional storage and seating for six. There is also a private study with secure custom gun closet and powder bath on the first floor. A 1500sf carpeted game room awaits at the top of the stairs on the second floor. The game room is set-up with everything you will need to entertain your guests including a home theater, shuffle board, pool table and additional gaming tables. A half-bath and tanning bed are tucked away on the side of the room. The lodge includes a 33’x14’ storage room behind the wet bar with garage door for easy access.

There is a 2400sf updated Ranch Manager home with frontage along FM 215 located near the entrance gates to the ranch. Another recently built 2 bed and 1 bath 1000 sf home for the full time ranch manager is located near the 4 bay metal storage building, chicken-coop and a 380sf workshop.

Other improvements on the ranch include an 1800 sf fishing dock with electricity, overhead fans and a storage locker. There is another nearly finished lake site that will be fed by the existing lake once completed. The entire perimeter of the ranch is high fenced with additional ground paneling to prevent hogs and predators for tunneling under. There are two separate high fenced catch pens within the ranch.

Water:

Located on the Edwards Plateau, the ranch has good surface water including various stock ponds and wet weather creeks. There is a 35’ deep constant level lake that is maintained with the help of a substantial 985’ deep water well that goes down to the 2nd Trinity Aquifer. This lake is stocked for trophy fishing. The average rainfall for this area is 34 inches.

There is an irrigation system in place for the lawn. Coryell City Water supplies the homes.

Elevation/Topography/Soils:

This property is situated in the Grand Prairie region and is characterized by a blend of open pastures, good scattered tree cover and rolling terrain. There is a beautiful shaded pecan bottom that the creek runs through. The topography of the region consists of limestone with hard limestone on the higher ridges and softer limestone and clay on the rolling hills and plateaus. The ranch includes nearly 100’ of topography variance and several low lying areas and elevated points are found throughout. An ancient canyon cuts through the ranch and several Indian artifacts have been found within.
