The Mercedes-Benz W100 600

The presentation of the Type 600 at the Frankfurt IAA in September 1963 was a real sensation. Designed as an exclusive representative vehicle for the highest demands, the new top model was equipped with special technical features as standard, which were unique overall and represented the state of the art at the time. For the first time at Daimler-Benz, a V8 injection engine was used as the drive unit, which mobilized a maximum output of 250 hp and a maximum torque of 51 mkg from a displacement of 6.3 l.

In connection with the standard built-in automatic transmission, sports car performance was achieved; the almost two and a half tons heavy 600 reached a top speed of over 205 km / h and could be accelerated from 0 to 100 km / h in 10 seconds. The shock absorbers, which can be adjusted from the steering column while driving, and the dual-circuit braking system with air pressure support, ensured the greatest possible driving safety. All four wheels had disc brakes, and the front wheels were each equipped with two brake calipers.

The extensive basic equipment of the 600 series, which in addition to air suspension, power steering and central locking, also included an electronically controlled heating and ventilation system, ensured maximum operating and driving comfort. A unique comfort hydraulic system enabled the automatic handling of the following functions: horizontal and vertical adjustment of the front seats and adjustment of the backrest angle, adjustment of the rear bench seat in the longitudinal direction, opening and closing of the car doors, the trunk lid and the optional sliding roof as well as opening and closing of the side windows. Series production of the "Big Mercedes" began in September 1964.

In addition to the five- to six-seater sedan with 3200 mm wheelbase, three seven- to eight-seat Pullman variants with 3900 mm wheelbase were offered: a four-door Pullman sedan with rear seats facing each other. vis-à-vis arrangement, a six-door Pullman limousine with bench in the rear and additional folding seats facing the direction of travel and a Pullman landaulet. The latter was available in four different versions. The standard version had four doors, rear seats in a face-to-face arrangement and a convertible top that reached to the front edge of the rear doors. A six-door version with a bench in the rear and additional folding seats facing the direction of travel was available as a special version. In this variant, as in the six-door Pullman sedan, the middle doors could also be designed without door handles. Both landaulets, four-door and six-door variants, were Upon special request, equipped with a long hood that reached up to the center wall.

With this large number of available body designs, the options were not yet exhausted. With regard to paintwork, interior fittings and special fittings, the most diverse individual customer requests could be implemented, so that - especially with the Pullman limousines and landaulets - hardly two copies with the same equipment are to be found.

About the vehicle offered here:

This 600 Pullman was delivered to Lebanon in 1975 in a Mercedes-Benz 172 (anthracite gray metallic) and equipment variant 205 (blue leather). Mercedes-Benz Classic acquired the vehicle in Malaga in February 2007, where it has been since 1997.

After purchasing it in 2007, Mercedes-Benz Classic immediately began a restoration that was unique to date. At the customer's request, the vehicle was completely dismantled and, once the restoration was complete, it was supposed to strike a special balance between the historic Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman and the comfort of the Maybach series, which was current at the time.

The body was completely rebuilt and then painted in mother-of-pearl by Mercedes-Benz in Untertürkheim. The powertrain, i.e. H. The engine, gearbox and axles have been completely overhauled and the chassis has been renewed for the next phase of life of the vehicle. The vehicle received a unique interior that combines the historical with the modern. Various components were specially made or taken from the Maybach series, such as the Maybach glass roof.

The outer panorama roof was specially made to the roof line and shape of the 600 Pullman, the inner glass pane comes from the Maybach series. Like the partition between the driver's seat and the rear seats, this can be transformed into a frosted glass pane at the push of a button. The flat screen was taken from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W221 Pullman and, thanks to Alpine technology, enables both analog and digital (DVBT) reception. In addition, two separately functioning navigation devices - which also enable precise location determination in the rear area - were installed. There is also a laptop interface in the center console and a DVD player. The entire entertainment equipment is controlled via a read-out data bus in the trunk of the vehicle.

Two original, hydraulically adjustable seats, which are optically designed in the Maybach series, ensure comfort in the rear. The original cool box as well as the folding tables and the champagne flute holders from Maybach are located between the seats. For special occasions, a trip with six people is possible thanks to two additional seats. Illuminated cosmetic mirrors for the driver and front passenger were installed in the driver's area. The air conditioning in the vehicle has been optimized so that even driving in hot countries is possible. The intercom from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W221 Pullman was installed for communication between driver and passenger.

A reversing camera and a front camera were installed to make parking this prestigious vehicle easier. The piping on the door sills was set with Swarovski diamonds on both the front and back. The door entry was decorated with illuminated Mercedes-Benz lettering made of stainless steel panels. The vehicle has standard brackets on the front fenders for representation rides. There is no comparable vehicle that has been restored by Mercedes-Benz with such effort and precision. Our sales staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have at any time.
