60 years of wins in formula 1: Ferrari 599 F1 60 Alonso edition
Ferrari have the luxury of being in the rarified air of having participated in over 1000 grand prix since 1950. In the 71 years Ferrari have been in Formula 1, they have won over 235 races, 15 drivers championships and 16 constructors championships and stood on the podium over 760 times. Therefore they are integral part of formula 1 and they celebrate their success on the track with special edition road cars off the track. The Ferrari 599 60F1 was built to celebrate Ferrari’s 60 years of winning in formula 1 and this victory that marked this milestone was Fernando Alonso at the 2011 British grand prix. This version of the 599 was announced in the December 2011, its based on the 599 HGTE chassis, that utilised stiff suspension, shorter springs and stiffer anti-roll bars over the standard 599 GTB.
This example is 1 of 9 UK RHD cars, making it rarer than the 599 GTO. The car is finished in Rosso Scuderia 2011, the same colour of Alonso’s car that won the grand prix, with white pin striping combined with the A and B pillar finished in white with Scuderia Ferrari painted on the rear wings. This car has also been specced with the hand painted Scuderia shields, the blue and red seat belts and the painted tricolore over the rear lip. This example has had the engine bay and singed by A lonso and the signature protected with a piece of PPF to preserve the signature.
