Only very rarely are vehicles built specifically for the race track also approved for conventional road traffic. The Apollo from the racing car forge Gumpert in Altenburg , is one of the rare specimens. The racing car, which is also approved for the FIA-GT, impresses with its LMP1 body shape and technical features. The highlight of the Apollo is its sequential gearbox with which gear changes are completed in milliseconds and accelerate the V8 bi-turbo Audi unit with 650 hp in a sprint of just 3 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour. The final speed of 360 km/h is indicated. Important for super sports cars nowadays is the weight. Most supercars weigh between 1,300 and 1,500 kg. The Lamborghini Aventador even has a kerb weight of 1,560 kg. The Gumpert Apollo, on the other hand, has a total weight of only 1,050 kg.
