The 918 Spyder showcases mesmerizing hybrid technology that combines power and efficiency seamlessly.
In this exceptional vehicle, two electric motors generate a combined 286 horsepower, setting a benchmark for production hybrid motors globally. The hybrid battery, a high-performance lithium-ion variant, is liquid-cooled and offers an instant power boost to the electric motors. It can be recharged through a conventional power source and charging lead or even while the vehicle is in motion. In a unique scenario, the vehicle's kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy by the electric motors. Moreover, one of the electric motors can act as a generator when driven by the engine, replenishing the hybrid battery. This enables driving in pure electric mode or harnessing additional energy for enhanced track performance. When connected to a 240v supply, the standard charging time is approximately two hours.
The combined power output reaches nearly 900 horsepower, thanks to a 4.6-liter V8 engine that delivers an unforgettable soundtrack. The top speed of this marvel reaches 214mph, and it accelerates from 0 to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds. Astonishingly, it goes from 49 to 74mph in a mere 1.2 seconds. Removing the roof enhances the already extraordinary experience. The car boasts an all-electric range of up to 19 miles and an average fuel economy of around 30 mpg. Notably lightweight, the vehicle features a carbon-fiber reinforced plastic monocoque tub, sub-frame, doors, and body panels, with polyurethane bumpers. Its suspension comprises forged aluminum wishbones with standard PASM adaptive dampers. The 4-wheel steering feature further enhances cornering, handling, and stability, adjusting according to the vehicle's speed.
This particular example, originally delivered to Austria, comes in a striking White exterior with a contrasting Onyx Black leather interior accented with Acid Green piping. It is richly optioned, featuring front axle vehicle lift, a Burmester audio system, Acid Green brake calipers, exposed carbon fiber interior and exterior elements, and a host of other features.
This 918 Spyder was carefully maintained by its first owner until 2018, during which it covered a mere 900 kilometers. It has since accrued just 1,300 kilometers, bringing the total to 2,400 kilometers from new. The car is accompanied by its original book pack, charger, and history folio.
