L539 V12 development

The Aventador introduced the 6,498 cc L539, Lamborghini's second V12 engine design after the family first used in the 350 GT. The naturally aspirated engine sits behind the cabin.

ISR transmission architecture

The Graziano ISR is a 7-speed single-clutch automated manual. Its operating principle differs from the dual-clutch transmission later fitted to the Revuelto.

Model development

The Aventador debuted at Geneva in 2011 as the Murciélago's replacement. The family ran through the S, SV, SVJ and Ultimae before production ended in September 2022; those variants have different outputs and aerodynamic specifications.
