W16 development

The Chiron retained the Veyron’s 7,993 cc quad-turbo W16 architecture with extensive revisions. The original Chiron is rated at 1,500 PS; Super Sport derivatives have a separate 1,600 PS specification.

Carbon structure and drivetrain

A carbon-fiber body structure supports the mid-engine layout. Drive passes through a 7-speed Ricardo dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels. Final assembly takes place at Bugatti’s Molsheim facility in France.

Sport and Super Sport

The Chiron Sport, introduced in 2018, concentrates on lower weight and chassis changes. The Super Sport 300+ combines increased engine output with longer rear bodywork developed for high-speed aerodynamics; these changes are specific to that derivative.
