Up for sale is a very rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Coupe 722 Edition.
The vehicle is limited to only 150 pieces worldwide - this is in very good condition and has not been involved in an accident.
Mercedes-Benz received feedback from discerning customers who wanted a car that was sportier than the SLR but just as practical. In 2007, Mercedes-Benz fulfilled these wishes with the introduction of the significantly improved and sportier 722 Edition. The new special edition was named in honor of Stirling Moss' incredible victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia in a 300 SLR with car number 722. The 722 was limited to just 150 examples, and it is believed that only about 25 of these were brought to North America.
With more than 300 modified components, almost every aspect of the SLR has been upgraded for the 722 Edition. Power increased from 625 to 650 hp, 0-100 time dropped to 3.6 seconds, ride height was lowered by 10 millimeters, new 19-inch alloy wheels were designed to mount larger carbon-ceramic brake discs, and a new carbon fiber front splitter increased front downforce by 128%. Incredibly, despite the significant increase in downforce, the 722's drag coefficient was also reduced. Alcantara and carbon fiber replaced much of the leather and aluminum trim in the interior, giving the car a sportier, more modern feel.
