THE ICON 280
An exciting opportunity to join a new construction project from the award winning Dutch shipbuilders Icon. The 84m project due for delivery in late 2020 offers a chance to jump the queues and secure the next available large yacht from a Northern European shipyard.
Exterior design by industry titan Tim Heywood and naval architecture from Van Oosannen have helped to create a yacht with a timeless and understated style yet impressively large dimensions.
The new owner currently still has the ability for personalised input to the project in order to ensure a degree of customisation can be added to a yacht that is available in half of the time for a custom project.
Direct access from the guests cabins to the wellness centre and even out to the water sets the scene that this is a yacht designed to interact with her surroundings. The eye catching infinity pool and informal lounging areas on the main deck will be the centre of life onboard.
The owner's stateroom is befitting of how a large yacht should be, with generous proportions, private exterior deck space and 270 degree panoramic views. It also has direct access to the touch and go helipad, capable of hosting an EC 135. Six additional cabins enable up to 19 guests to be carried and all have impressive dimensions and are beautifully appointed.
Guest accommodation counts five guest suites, a VIP and the master cabin. The five guest suites are all located privately on the lower deck with direct access to the spa, Hammam, gym and beach club. The large VIP suite is positioned starboard on the main deck, while the master stateroom is in pride of place on the upper deck. The master suite is an exceptional 126m2 space, which includes a private study forward, 270º views and open sea balconies to port and starboard.
Indoor-outdoor living is at the heart of Icon 280, with large sweeping interior spaces connecting effortlessly with the outdoors. Multiple dining options are located throughout the yacht, including al fresco dining on the main and upper decks. Huge main and upper deck salons serve as focal spaces for guests to relax in.
Key amenities include a wine tasting bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, on the upper deck aft, and the partially enclosed sun deck with features that include a sheltered plunge pool, bar and seating. A helipad on the forward deck allows effortless arrivals and departures for guests, while a 6.8m infinity pool on the main deck, with beach club below, is a true stand out feature of the design.
Silent and sleek in the water, cruising at 16knots, Icon 280 is powered by twin CAT 3512 B DITA SCAC 1500kw engines, with clean emission generators. Rolls-Royce Neptune retractable stabilisers and extra-quiet bow thrusters ensure easy, accurate maneuvering.
