Description of the car:
In 1973, Ferrari made the decision to replace the 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupé. However, instead of continuing to increase the displacement and power of the traditional V12 concept, Ferrari opted for a new 12-cylinder concept with a flat configuration, featuring a bank of six cylinders facing another bank of six cylinders, totaling 4.4 liters.
This concept came to be known as the "Boxer" engine. Additionally, Ferrari transitioned from a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration to a mid-engine concept.
The 365BB Boxer was born and produced from 1973 to 1976. It was succeeded by the 512 BB with a 5.0L engine.
In 1981, the Boxer received an upgrade with fuel injection replacing carburetors, enhancing reliability and ease of maintenance while maintaining the same power output. This model was named the 512BBI, with 1,007 units produced.
Our car is the fourth to last produced. It was imported to the United States in 1985, spent its life in California until 2005, and then made its way to London. In 2015, the car was brought to Belgium after undergoing a service. It is fully Classiche-certified and comes with the Classiche certificate and certification documents.
