After achieving success in the World Series by Renault and various Formula Renault 2.0 divisions, Epsilon Euskadi decided to leverage its expertise and create its own in-house prototype racing car,the EE1.

The EE1, designed for top-tier Le Mans Prototype racing, featured a full carbon fiber monocoque and was propelled by a naturally-aspirated V10 from Judd, positioned longitudinally behind the driver. The Ricardo-supplied 6-speed sequential manual gearbox contributed to the car's lightweight construction, coming in at 900kg. Though the EE1 faced challenges with pace during the 2008 season, it marked a significant milestone for Epsilon Euskadi.
