Reminiscent of the SLR racing sports car, the myth of the silver arrow and a tribute to Sir Stirling Moss: The Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss combines spectacular design with the most demanding technology and offers a unique driving experience for all the senses. A limited edition of just 75 vehicles, this is a high-class classic car for sportsmen and enthusiasts. The newly developed shape of the SLR Stirling Moss conveys tremendous dynamics. The long engine hood, the vehicle body that merges optically with the interior and the compact, muscular tail illustrate the myth of the SLR in the same way as the long-drawn scoops with integrated roll bars behind the headrests, the facet-like, black painted ventilation grids on the side and the bonnet. Very high side skirts, the powerfully contoured fender and the gull-wing doors that open to the front complete the emotional aesthetic of the SLR Stirling Moss. The so-called tonneau cover made of carbon can close the vehicle. When both the tonneau cover and the doors are closed, the SLR Stirling Moss looks like a sculpture. Technically, the SLR Stirling Moss has inherited the best genes of the SLR family and benefits from Mercedes-Benz’ extensive experience. The body made from carbon, the newly developed monocoque, the extremely light 1,551 kg curb weight and excellent aerodynamics and safety mean that the SLR Stirling Moss brings you unlimited driving pleasure. The combination of new technology and historical class is beyond any doubt. The SLR Stirling Moss gets its impressive performance of 478 kW / 650 hp from its AMG 5.5 litre supercharged V8 engine with a maximum torque of 820 NM, which accelerates the puristic sports car to a top speed of 350 km/h. Acute amazement and silence might best describe the reactions when the SLR Stirling Moss passes by. A closed underbody in connection with a massive diffuser ensures the necessary downforce, thus allowing for such dynamic sporty driving pleasure. The interior is designed to be as puristic as the exterior: The interior has been reduced to the essentials. Valuable materials used in the interior underline the unique character of the SLR Stirling Moss. On the underside of the gear knob, the engraved signature of the eponym in aluminium is also the name of the man who let this vehicle become a classic car. Bodywork that, while giving the impression of being monolithic with historical elements such as the scoop made of carbon, reflects the perfectly staged combination of a nostalgic racing car and a modern supercar design.
The SLR Stirling Moss offered here was admitted to its first owner in Berlin on July 1, 2009 and spent the following years as an exhibit in his private collection. In the summer of 2015, the first and so far only change of ownership took place after our in-house collection management purchased the car and registered it on August 27th, 2015 on the Mechatronik GmbH. Since then, the SLR Stirling Moss has been in the Mechatronik Collection, always serviced by our specialist staff and still in absolute new car condition with a mileage that suites to the delivery standards. The painting of this special model, limited to 75 samples, is one of the rarest that was used on the SLR Stirling Moss. The special Mysticwhite paint was used on only four vehicles, of which only two SLR´s were given the rare option of attachments in visible carbon fibre. The combination of the greatest possible rarity in connection with the absolutely new condition make this vehicle an absolute figurehead of every top-class collection.
