Auto Salon Singen GmbH was a family dealer of classic, luxury and sports cars at Güterstraße 33–35 in Singen, Germany, close to the Swiss border. Fridolin Koltes founded the business in 1985 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance, and Michael Koltes managed it from 2007.
Auto Salon Singen has been in insolvency proceedings since 2025. On 15 May 2025 the Konstanz local court (Amtsgericht Konstanz) placed the company under provisional insolvency administration, appointing lawyer Christian Zschocke of Villingen-Schwenningen, and it opened insolvency proceedings over the company's assets on 28 July 2025.
Why did Auto Salon Singen go insolvent? According to Michael Koltes, the decisive cause was a fraud. A man who said he had known his late father posed as an intermediary able to obtain current and strictly limited Ferrari models, sent price lists and configurations, and charged a substantial commission. Customers paid deposits on these cars. Delivery dates were then cancelled or postponed again and again, and the intermediary could no longer be found at his known address. Koltes filed a criminal complaint and informed customers and creditors. Because the deposits far exceeded the company's capital, he filed for insolvency. He also pointed to a weak classic-car market after the diesel affair, the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and inflation.
Trading continued for a time under the administrator, with all payments made through the administrator's account, and the owner said the showroom would probably close at the end of October 2025. The dealer's website is no longer online, and in February 2026 the 4,000 m² site on Güterstraße was reported sold to McDonald's.
