The Ferrari 599 SA Aperta
In 2011 the body designer Pininfarina celebrated its 80th anniversary. Ferrari fans and drivers associate many memories with this company, after all, many famous models come from the pen of the drawing masters from Turin, including the current California or the 599 GTB Fiorano. At the head of Pininfarina is the Farina family, who were allowed to change their surname to the nickname "Pininfarina" (little Farina) in the 1960s. The company was founded in 1930 by Battista "Pinin" Farina, whose son Sergio Pininfarina took over the reins in 1966 and finally passed it on to his son Andrea Pininfarina, who died in an accident in 2008. Andreas brother Paolo is currently sitting in the executive chair at Pininfarina. In memory of Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, who have drawn many great cars for Ferrari, the sports car company took their initials S and A and added them to the model name of the open 599 because of the 80th anniversary of Pininfarina. The number of the limited special model was also chosen based on the Pininfarina anniversary. Only 80 copies of the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta were built. The basic body corresponds to the well-known 599 GTB. The A-pillars have been adapted so that they can accommodate the side brackets of the emergency roof. Behind the seats are two curved roll bars that take up and continue the curves of the body design. Newly designed rims give the 599 SA Aperta a sporty appearance. In the trunk there is the aforementioned emergency roof, which, according to Ferrari, offers rudimentary weather protection in the event of a sudden rain shower. Powerful propulsion is ensured: the 6.0 liter V12 engine generates a whopping 670 hp and a maximum torque of 620 Nm, which is available at 6,500 tours. Ferrari gave no information about the performance, but the closed 599 GTO sprints to 100 km / h in just 3.35 seconds and reaches a top speed of 335 km / h. The cockpit of the two-seater roadster with a front mid-engine is far back so that the bonnet is long. The lines look elegant and at the same time give the open Ferrari 599 an aggressive appearance. In addition to the powerful, short rear end with a powerful diffuser, the eye catches the large radiator grille at the front, the grille of which is reminiscent of the classic models. The dynamic lines of the design are emphasized by a power dome on the bonnet with large air outlets on the sides. The Ferrari SA Aperta has additional openings on the front and sides to cool and ventilate the huge engine and brakes. Ferrari designed the driver-oriented interior to be sporty. So that every SA Aperta is unique, the proud owners can have the cockpit designed individually. Among other things, there are leather sports seats with contrasting stitching and new quilting, an F1 dashboard and specific badges.
The vehicle offered here in the unique color combination Avario / Carta da zuchhero blue was delivered to Asia in June 2011 to its customer and first owner, one of the world's largest Ferrari collectors, who consistently exhibited the car in his private collection for the following 10 years. The vehicle was only moved within the scope of acceptance drives after the annual inspections by in-house staff and is completely new.
