With pride we offer you: Perhaps the only real American supercar of the last 20 years! The Ford GT!
The Ford GT started as a concept car designed for the Automaker's Centennial Year and was shown there together with the Mustang and Thunderbird. In 2002 the car was unveiled as the new GT40 Concept car. Camilo Pardo, head of Ford's Living Legends department, was responsible for the design and worked under the supervision of J. Mays. But Caroll Shelby was also involved in this project for the further development of the supercar. He was mainly responsible for testing the prototype.
Although the GT is obviously a 'homage' to the GT40 from the sixties / seventies, the car is not the same except for the exterior. The GT is bigger, wider and especially longer than the GT40. The GT is built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ford, hence the number 100 clearly in the left headlight.
