The modern Ford GT is a tribute to Ford's Le Mans-winning heritage, first revealed in 2015 and launched in 2017. Developed by Ford Performance, the GT combines carbon fibre construction, active aerodynamics, and a twin-turbo V6, directly inspired by the GTE-Pro race car that won Le Mans in 2016.

This Ford GT features a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, producing 660 hp. Mid-mounted and paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the powertrain is optimized for performance with a dry sump oiling system and electronically controlled air-to-air intercooling. The lightweight aluminum block and carbon-intensive construction help to maintain agility, while the engine calibration is tuned for both road use and endurance racing precision.
