DESCRIPTION
The 25th Anniversary Countach was introduced in 1988 to celebrate Lamborghini’s 25th anniversary, and it is often considered to be the most refined and liveable of its series. The car featured many minor updates from lessons learned with previous iterations of the Countach, and there were nearly 500 small differences between the 25th Anniversary edition and the Countach 5000 QV.
Horacio Pagani, then an employee of Lamborghini, was tasked with redesigning the bodywork, choosing to lift the nose slightly and redesign the air intakes to more effectively channel air to the front brakes. At the same time, the rear bumper also received subtle styling changes. The two most notable changes were to the air intakes that were located just behind the door, which received thicker strakes in body colour rather than in black, and the wheels were now two-piece forged alloy rims.
Inside, Lamborghini replaced the Countach’s relatively spartan manually operated windows with power-operated units. Furthermore, the seats were fitted with power-adjustable seatbacks in an effort to increase driver and passenger comfort. A newer steering wheel was fitted, and the 25th Anniversary Countach was graced with a more powerful air conditioning system.
The example we are pleased to offer for sale was first registered on 14th March 1990 and was delivered new to a Mr Gianluca Graziani via Bologna based dealer Emilian Auto S.p.A. Gianluca only owned the car for six months before selling it to Oreste Dal Lago, a private Italian collector who kept the car right up until 2014 when it was sold and registered in the United Kingdom.
Soon after arriving in the U.K. the car was sent for a mechanical overhaul and recommission. In late 2021, the car was treated to a full respray in its original Rosso colour and it received four new Pirelli tyres, a new clutch kit, and a full engine service to ensure it is “on the button” and ready to be enjoyed. It has also been fitted with an ANSA sports exhaust system.
The car presents superbly, showing just over 9,500 miles from new and maintaining a comprehensive service history throughout. This is a stunning example of the last iteration of one of Lamborghini’s most iconic and desirable cars. Contact us now for more information or to arrange a viewing.
