The Koenigsegg Regera was first unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as a statement of intent: to redefine the modern hypercar. Born from Christian von Koenigsegg’s vision to merge savage performance with everyday usability, the Regera was the first Koenigsegg to feature a hybrid powertrain and marked a major shift in the company’s engineering philosophy.

Unlike previous models built around multi-speed transmissions, the Regera introduced the revolutionary Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) system — eliminating the gearbox altogether. This innovation allowed for seamless torque delivery from its twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors, making it a technical pioneer in the world of electrified performance.

Production began in 2016 and ended in 2022, with only 80 cars manufactured, each individually assembled at the Koenigsegg facility in Ängelholm, Sweden.
