Overview of this 1951 Bentley Petersen Dartmoor used for sale

Built upon 1951 Bentley Mark VI chassis, this one-of-a-kind creation was meticulously crafted by Bob Petersen Engineering, a revered name in the world of bespoke Bentley restorations. The Dartmoor Coupe's exterior is finished in a deep Oxford Blue, complemented by an Bordeaux leather interior.

Bob Petersen Engineering, a Devon-based firm celebrated for its expertise in crafting and restoring Bentleys, undertook the challenge of creating this one-off car. The Dartmoor Coupe has graced some of the world’s events, including the Goodwood Revival Meeting and the Bentley Drivers Club's annual race weekend at Silverstone.

the Bentley Petersen Dartmoor Coupe uses powerful Rolls-Royce B81SV 6.5-liter straight-eight engine. This robust powerplant delivers 265 horsepower, driving the rear wheels through a custom Bentley gearbox. The engine was chosen for its balance of reliability and performance. To accommodate this engineering marvel, the original Bentley Mark VI chassis was extensively modified, including a wheelbase extended to 11 feet and reinforced with cruciform bracing. The car’s under-slung rear axle and power-assisted steering make for an enjoyable and surprisingly manageable drive, despite its grand proportions.

While designed primarily for luxury and style, the Bentley Petersen Dartmoor Coupe offers commendable performance for a classic grand tourer. The 6.5-liter straight-eight engine ensures smooth, effortless acceleration, with enough power to keep pace with modern traffic.

The Bentley Petersen Dartmoor Coupe is truly unique; only one example was ever built.
