Chevrolet brought the El Camino back for 1964 as a mid-size coupe utility built on the new Chevelle, and the 1966 model year gave it fresh sheetmetal shared with that year's Chevelle and a new instrument panel. This 1966 El Camino has been through a frame-off restoration and customization that keeps the classic lines while modernizing almost everything underneath. Power now comes from a fuel-injected 5.7-liter LS V8 with a custom engine cover, paired with a 4L60E 4-speed automatic with overdrive. The chassis carries UMI Performance suspension with tubular A-arms, front and rear sway bars and Aldan coilovers at all four corners, while power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes with slotted and drilled rotors handle stopping. Power steering and Vintage Air conditioning make it an easy car to drive. The body is finished in a custom green metallic with all trim in gunmetal gray, and the bed is lined in red oak. Inside, a custom mocha brown interior is paired with a tilt steering wheel in a matching color and Dakota Digital gauges. The odometer shows 25 miles since the build.
