Model reference specifications

Engine · Ford Mustang

a straight-six or a V8, depending on the order: for 1967 and 1968 Ford listed the 200 cubic inch (3.3-litre) Thriftpower six, the 289 (4.7-litre) small-block V8 and the 390 (6.4-litre) FE big-block V8

Performance · Ford Mustang

from 120 hp gross (89 kW) for the 1967 six to 320 hp gross (239 kW) for the four-barrel 390

Chassis · Ford Mustang

The 1967 restyle made the car longer and wider so that a big-block V8 would fit, and it came as a 2-door hardtop, a fastback or a convertible. For 1968 Ford added side marker lights, shoulder belts, the 302 (4.9-litre) V8 and the 428 Cobra Jet.
