This 1987 Buick Regal Grand National is the final-year version of the all-black turbocharged coupe that Buick sold from 1984. The Grand National name first appeared on the Regal in 1982, air-to-air intercooling arrived for 1986, and 1987 brought the last and strongest cars, rated by Buick at 245 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque from a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 with sequential fuel injection.
The photographs show black paint, the GN rear spoiler, chrome-finished wheels on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, Grand National Intercooled badges and a gray and black cloth interior with embroidered front headrests, a console shifter and the Turbo 3.8 Litre switch panel.
Under the hood sit the turbocharger and intercooler, and the hood bulge carries the 3.8 SFI Turbo script. Period figures quoted by the dealer put the 1987 car at 4.9 seconds from zero to sixty and 13.9 seconds in the quarter mile. The price is on request.
