The interior is finished in black Nappa leather and Alcantara , combined with matte carbon detailing. The P1 is equipped with the Meridian Surround sound system , satellite navigation , HVAC controls , cruise control , and front/rear parking sensors. As a hybrid hypercar, it combines a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor, delivering 916 hp and 900 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The McLaren P1 was unveiled during the model’s presentation at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show , developed by McLaren Automotive as the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1. Designed as a hybrid hypercar and part of the "Holy Trinity" alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder, it was built using a carbon monocoque and Formula 1-derived technology, including active aerodynamics, IPAS, DRS, and KERS systems. Production was strictly limited to 375 units.

The McLaren P1 is powered by a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 (code: M838TQ) paired with an electric motor , delivering a combined output of 916 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The engine alone provides 737 hp and 720 Nm , while the electric motor adds 179 hp and 260 Nm. Power is transmitted via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic developed by Graziano. The P1 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds , reaching 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and 300 km/h in 16.5 seconds. The active rear wing and Race mode can generate up to 600 kg of downforce , with carbon-ceramic brakes by Akebono and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres providing high-speed stability and stopping power.
