The McLaren Senna was unveiled during the model’s presentation at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show , developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) as part of the Ultimate Series. Engineered as a track-focused road-legal hypercar , the Senna is based on the Monocage III carbon chassis, with a clear design directive to prioritise lap times, lightness, and aerodynamic functionality over traditional aesthetics or comfort.

Beneath the carbon bodywork lies a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 (M840TR), capable of producing 800 PS (789 hp) and 800 Nm of torque. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission , enabling 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds , and a top speed of 340 km/h. The car’s dry weight of 1,198 kg is achieved through extensive use of carbon fibre and minimal soundproofing, while the active aerodynamics ensure optimal grip and control across a range of driving conditions.
