Model background · Porsche 935, 2019 revival
Modern GT2 RS basis
The modern 935 is based on the 991 GT2 RS, with bodywork recalling the 935/78 Moby Dick. Porsche presented it at Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca in 2018; it is a separate vehicle from the 1970s Group 5 racer.
Powertrain and brakes
The revival uses the GT2 RS-derived 700 PS engine with 7-speed PDK. Racing brakes combine six-piston front calipers with 380 mm discs and four-piston rear calipers with 355 mm discs.
Cockpit and production
A safety cage, racing bucket seat and 6-point harness form part of the competition cockpit. Production was limited to 77 cars, with deliveries planned from June 2019; the optional passenger seat is separate from the standard single-seat arrangement.
