Model background · Bentley Bentayga, model development
From EXP 9 F to production
The Bentayga followed the EXP 9 F concept shown at Geneva in 2012. The production SUV debuted at Frankfurt in September 2015 with a substantially revised design and final assembly at Bentley’s Crewe factory.
Powertrain branches
The range began with a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12. A 4.0-liter diesel V8 followed in 2017, a gasoline V8 in 2018, and a plug-in hybrid pairing a 3.0-liter V6 with an electric motor. These are separate powertrain configurations.
Body and platform
The Bentayga uses the Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo architecture. Its body-shell production moved from Bratislava to Zwickau at the end of 2016, with painting and final assembly at Crewe.
