Chassis

The RWD is the lighter Huracán of the range at 1,389 kg dry, thirty kilos under the four-wheel-drive Evo, and it drops the front axle drive and the rear-wheel steering that the Evo carries. Lamborghini gave it its own traction control, tuned for oversteer rather than against it.

V10 development

The Huracán retains a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, combining direct injection with port injection. Its mid-engine architecture is shared with the 2nd Generation Audi R8.

Road-car transmission

Road-going Huracáns use a 7-speed Lamborghini Doppia Frizione dual-clutch gearbox. The range includes both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models; the competition Super Trofeo has a different transmission.

Model lineage

The Huracán replaced the Gallardo after its 2014 Geneva debut. Filippo Perini led the original design, while Mitja Borkert directed the later evolution; the Temerario followed at the end of the Huracán's 2014–2024 production run.
