About the BMW 550e xDrive (G60)

The G60 is the eighth 5 Series, presented on 24 May 2023 on the evolved CLAR II platform; the G61 Touring followed on 7 February 2024 and reached showrooms in May 2024. The boot holds 520 litres in the saloon and 570 litres in the Touring, whose rear window no longer opens separately from the tailgate. The 550e xDrive arrived in November 2023 as the stronger of the two plug-in hybrids, above the four-cylinder 530e; it weighs 2,230 kg as a saloon and 2,285 kg as a Touring (EU).

BMW builds the G60 saloon and the G61 Touring at Dingolfing, like the two generations before them.
