About the Porsche 718 Boxster

The Boxster is the open 718, with the engine behind the seats and a fabric roof. The 982 generation of 2016 to 2025 carried turbocharged flat-fours of 2.0 and 2.5 litres, 300 and 350 PS, and from 2020 the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six on the GTS 4.0 and the Spyder, from 400 to 500 PS. A six-speed manual and the seven-speed PDK were both offered.

The 718 name comes from the sports racing car Porsche built from 1957 to 1962, which won the Targa Florio in 1959, 1960 and 1963 on a 1.5-litre Fuhrmann four-cam engine. Porsche has built cars at Zuffenhausen since 1950.
