About the Spyker C8

Every C8 is built on an aluminium spaceframe with aluminium body panels; the Laviolette replaces the Spyder's soft top with a fixed glass canopy and a roof air intake. The LM85 is the road version of the Laviolette GT2-R racer, offered only in two-tone Burnt Orange and Gun Metal; LM stands for Le Mans and 85 was the Spyker Squadron's racing number.

Spyker unveiled the Laviolette at AutoRAI 2001, naming it after the Belgian engineer Joseph Valentin Laviolette, and limited the LM85 of 2009 to 24 cars in homage to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
