Ford built the four-wheel-drive F-250 of the early 1970s on a tall frame that collectors call the Highboy, and the 1974 model year was among the last before Ford lowered the four-by-four trucks. This example keeps that stance, about 80 inches tall, but has been rebuilt as a restomod around modern Ford power. The engine is a Gen 2 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a 6R80 6-speed automatic and a divorced NP205 transfer case, managed by Power By The Hour engine controls and accessory drive. Underneath are the Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axles, new locking hubs, Rancho RS5000X shocks, four-wheel power disc brakes, a stainless exhaust with Street Max mufflers and polished 16-inch Ion wheels on Crosswind mud-terrain tires. The body is finished in Wimbledon White with a Free Wheeling-style Chromatic decal package, new bumpers, glass, mirrors and weatherstripping, LED lighting and AMP Research power running boards. Inside are a houndstooth bench seat and matching headliner, Intellitronix digital gauges, Vintage Air conditioning, a tilt column and a RetroSound radio with Bluetooth.
