The 6.75-litre V8 with pushrods was introduced in 1959 and stayed in production for sixty years, the longest run of any V8 in the world. It gives its peak torque at 2,000 revolutions, which is why a Bentley of this kind never sounds as though it is trying.
Bentley built the first Azure at Crewe from 1995 to 2003, on the Continental R, with the roof mechanism engineered by Pininfarina. It was the most expensive car the marque sold at the time, and the last Bentley of the pre-Volkswagen era.
The available examples cover model years 2003 to 2009. The median odometer reading is 24,644 miles.
Across the listings in this selection, the Bentley Azure is quoted at convertible. These are the figures dealers declare, not a reconstructed factory specification.
