About the Maserati GT2 Stradale

The Stradale is the road-legal form of the GT2 racing car: sixty kilograms out of the MC20, a fixed rear wing, a new front splitter and vents cut into the wings, with the carbon tub and the Nettuno engine untouched beneath. The pre-chamber sits above the main combustion chamber with its own spark plug: it fires first and sends jets of flame down into the cylinder, which burns a leaner mixture faster than a single plug can. Maserati was the first to put the idea in a road car.

Maserati builds the MC20 at Modena, in the works on the Viale Ciro Menotti where the marque has been since 1940. It was the first car of the marque's own design in fifteen years, and the first with an engine Maserati built itself since 1998.
