The Evoluzione package takes 35 kg off the 599XX and adds an active rear wing that trims itself for cornering, on top of the carbon ducktail spoiler, the rear diffuser and the two extractor fans in the boot of the base car, which stop working above 250 km/h because no further downforce is needed. The brakes are Formula One derived carbon ceramics with cross-drilled discs. The cabin is stripped to racing buckets, a roll cage and sliding Lexan windows, with a single screen behind the wheel in place of every analogue dial, although the air conditioning was kept. Nine traction and stability settings are chosen from the manettino on the steering wheel.
The 599XX is not road legal and is not raced either: it belongs to Ferrari's client test driver programme, in which owners run their cars at selected circuits and the data feeds later road and racing models. The base car lapped the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring in 6 minutes 58.16 seconds in 2010, and the Evoluzione package was confirmed in December 2011.
The available examples cover model years 2009 to 2010.
