About the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4x4²

Portal axles with geared hubs, taken from the G 63 AMG 6×6, give it 410 mm of ground clearance, and each corner carries dual spring and damper struts developed by KW with adjustable damping; the tracks are about 23 cm wider at the front and 25 cm at the rear than on a regular G-Class. The front end is that of the G 63 and G 65 AMG, and the exhausts leave the body ahead of the rear wheels on both flanks.

First shown as the Extreme-G concept, the G 500 4×4² was launched at the 2015 Geneva motor show and built as a small series from 2015 on the 463 G-Class, which Magna Steyr assembles at Graz.
